Satellite Phones
If a deployed soldier has a satellite phone, please note that calls placed by AT&T residential customers in the U.S. to a satellite phone incur a non-country specific rate of $1.25 per minute of talk time (subject to change). AT&T calling plans do not discount calls to satellite phones. The cost of the call for the receiving party is subject to the terms and conditions of the customer's calling plan with the satellite phone provider. |

Home Phone Options
If a deployed soldier has access to a landline phone that can receive calls (not cellular and not satellite), then a good option would be for the caller in the U.S. to sign-up for an AT&T international calling plan. Set a time to have the U.S. caller call the soldier overseas directly at the discounted direct-dial calling plan rate. |
