Commercial Credit Cards and Collect Calling

Calling collect or charging calls to a commercial credit card are the least cost-effective ways of paying for international calls. AT&T has lowered the rates and surcharges for these calls, but they may still result in unexpectedly high charges. The special rate for collect calls from Kuwait to the U.S. is $0.50 per minute with a $1.50 surcharge per call, and from Iraq to the U.S it is $0.75 per minute and $1.50 surcharge per call (rates are subject to change without notice). You can usually make a collect call to the U.S. from abroad at an AT&T Calling Center or with an AT&T USADirect® Service access number.
In some countries you can also charge AT&T calls to a major commercial credit card, but again, the cost is higher because there is no overall special military pricing offered with credit card billing (except for Kuwait and Iraq which pricing is the same as for collect calls stated above).
Remember, for the best rates, use the AT&T Global PrePaid Card or AT&T Worldwide PrePaid Card from your exchange or ship's store; both cards are very easy to use and offer special military calling rates. Also, get the AT&T Global Military Saver Plussm Plan calling card as a back-up.
