What is Call Waiting?
With Call Waiting, a special tone signals you if you get an incoming call while you're already on the phone. When you hear the tone, briefly press and release the telephone switch hook or "flash" button. This will put the first call on hold while you answer the incoming call. To return to the first call (and to switch back and forth), simply press and release the switch hook or flash button again.
To temporarily deactivate Call Waiting, press *70, and then wait for 3 short beeps followed by a second dial tone before placing your call. Call Waiting will be automatically reactivated for new incoming calls when you hang up.
Call Waiting is always available to you. It is an included feature available to you at no extra charge. There are no settings to change on the web or from your phone.
What is Caller ID with Name?
With Caller ID with Name, the incoming caller's telephone number and name (if available) are displayed on your Caller ID unit or Caller ID-equipped phone before you answer. Caller ID will not identify calls from pay phones, some wireless phones, or areas without advanced switching capabilities, or if the calling party blocks their number. You must provide the special Caller ID unit or Caller ID-equipped phone to support this feature.
Caller ID with Name is always on. It is an included feature available to you at no extra charge.
What is 3-Way Calling?
3-Way Calling lets you add another caller to an existing conversation, partway through the call. Simply depress your "flash" button or tap the switch hook while you are on your original call, wait for the dial tone, and place the call to the third person. When that person answers, depress "flash" or tap the switch hook a second time, and the three of you are on the call together. If you want to drop the new call (for example, if you get a busy signal or an answering machine), press the flash button or tap the switch hook twice, and you will be returned to the original call.
Once you hang up from a 3-Way call, the other two parties will also be disconnected (of course, either of them can hang up and you will still be on the phone with the other).
3-Way Calling is always on. There are no settings to change on the Web or from your phone. It is an included feature available to you at no extra charge (beyond standard calling charges for any long distance, local toll, or international calls you add).
Is there an extra charge for calls that I make using 3-Way Calling?
Yes, there may be. If you are not signed up for an unlimited nationwide calling plan and you make calls with 3-Way Calling to numbers that are a long distance or local toll call from your AT&T CallVantage service phone, you will be charged per-minute rates for the duration of the forwarded call. If you make calls to international numbers, you will pay the per-minute charges for that country for every call forwarded.
For example, if you make a long distance call, then use 3-Way Calling to add another long distance caller to that call, you will be charged your per-minute long distance rate for each of those outbound calls.
What is Call Forwarding?
Call Forwarding allows you to forward your calls to another number, such as your cellular phone. Tell Call Forwarding where to forward calls by pressing *12 on your AT&T CallVantage service phone and listen for three beep tones, then dial the 10-digit number you want your calls forwarded to. You should hear three beeps letting you know the service is in effect, and calls will be forwarded to the other number.
To deactivate Call Forwarding press *73 on your AT&T CallVantage service phone and listen for the three beeps. You can then reactivate Call Forwarding to the previously stored number by dialing *72 on your AT&T CallVantage service phone and listening for the three beeps. To set a different number to forward to, follow the *12 dialing sequence described above.
Calls cannot be forwarded to 911, to 900 numbers, to 700 numbers, or to 3-digit number such as 400.
Call forwarding is always available to you. It is an included feature available to you at no extra charge. There are no settings to change on the web or from your phone.

Can I sign up for a 2nd Line?
Yes, you can. While AT&T CallVantage service comes with a single phone line by default, if your family needs to be on more than one call at a time you can also sign up for a 2nd Line.
When you add a 2nd Line you can connect a phone to the jack labeled "2" on the back of your adapter. This may also be called "VoIP2" or "Phone2" (you may need to remove a plastic plug from this jack). You can then make calls on each line separately. Note that just like your 1st Line, your 2nd Line also requires a minimum of 90 Kpbs upstream and downstream speed, so to support calls on both lines simultaneously requires a minimum 180 Kbps connection.
Each line has a main number associated with it. In addition, you can get additional numbers for either line by either adding Users or Simple Reach(SM) Numbers. Adding Users lets your family share a single phone line while providing each family member with his or her own phone number, Voice Mail, Call Logs, etc. Adding Simple Reach Numbers lets you set up phone numbers around the country that distant friends and family can use to reach you on your AT&T CallVantage service phone for the price of a local call.
2nd Line is a premium feature you can subscribe to at an additional monthly charge.
Is there an extra charge for calls completed using Call Forwarding?
Yes, there may be. If you are not signed up for an unlimited nationwide calling plan and you forward calls to numbers that are a long distance or local toll call from your AT&T CallVantage service phone, you will be charged per-minute rates for the duration of the forwarded call. If you forward calls to international numbers, you will pay the per-minute charges for that country for every call forwarded.
