What features come with my AT&T CallVantage Softphone service?

Your AT&T CallVantage Softphone service comes loaded with the same popular and advanced features as AT&T CallVantage service, such as Voice Mail, Call Logs, Phone Book, Locate Me, Do Not Disturb, Virtual Numbers and Control by Phone. In addition, video calling to other AT&T CallVantage Softphone customers is included (requires a web cam, which is not included). Fax and modem capability are not available. Can my existing AT&T CallVantage service and my AT&T CallVantage Softphone service share the same telephone number?

No, AT&T CallVantage Softphone service requires a separate telephone number.

Can I keep my phone number?

When signing up for AT&T CallVantage Softphone service, depending on your location, you have the choice of having a new number assigned to you or, where possible, transferring an existing phone number. Currently, we can not transfer an AT&T CallVantage telephone number to the AT&T CallVantage Softphone service.

What is video calling?

Real time video conference calling from your PC or laptop with up to two additional parties. Video calling requires a web camera (not included). At this time, video calling will only work with another AT&T CallVantage Softphone subscriber. View Demo

Are emergency 911 services available with AT&T CallVantage Softphone service?

Yes, AT&T CallVantage Softphone service comes with emergency 911 service, however, there are important differences between emergency 911 calling with traditional telephone service and emergency 911 calling with AT&T CallVantage Softphone service. AT&T CallVantage Softphone customers will be required to confirm their 911 service address each time they log in. Do I need additional equipment?

If your PC doesn't have a built-in microphone, then a standard headset and microphone are required for the voice service (not included).

If I call another AT&T CallVantage customer will the minutes count against my 300 minute plan?

No, voice calls to any other AT&T CallVantage customer (including another AT&T CallVantage Softphone customer) and video calls to any other AT&T CallVantage Softphone customer will not count against your 300 minute plan.

Will the AT&T CallVantage Softphone service work through my company Virtual Private Network (VPN)?

No, at this time the AT&T CallVantage Softphone service will not work through a VPN.
