Can I change my AT&T CallVantage service phone number?

Yes, it is possible to change your number. To change numbers, call Customer Care at 1-866-596-8464, select prompt 4, "PIN reset or password or account management change" and then prompt 5, "all other service changes."

Phone numbers cannot be changed via the Web site.

I have a phone line from my local phone company. Can I transfer that phone number to my AT&T CallVantage service?

In many cases, you can transfer the phone number on a current phone line to your AT&T CallVantage service. To request a transfer, contact Customer Care and follow the prompts described above.

Not all numbers can be transferred. For example:

  • If you are a DSL customer, you cannot transfer the number associated with your DSL line.
  • Wireless phone numbers cannot currently be transferred. We are working on enhancements to the service and expect to be able to transfer wireless numbers to AT&T CallVantage service in the near future.
  • Phone numbers that are not in the same local calling area as other AT&T CallVantage service phone numbers can not be transferred.

Will I be charged for changing my AT&T CallVantage service number?

If you change your primary telephone number from the number you originally received with your AT&T CallVantage service, you will be assessed a one-time service fee of $19.99 for that change. This fee will show up on your next bill.

If I change my AT&T CallVantage service number, will I lose information like Call Logs, Voice Mail, or Phone Book entries?

Yes, you will lose all of these records. When you change to a new number, your number will not have any information associated with your previous number. We recommend that you save all records and information from your old number prior to calling us to change your number.

Can I transfer my phone number from my old phone service to use with AT&T CallVantage service?

In many cases, you can transfer the phone number on your current phone line to your AT&T CallVantage service. This transfer can be done at the time you order the service, or you can request a transfer after your service has been established.

To request a number change, call Customer Care at 1-866-596-8464, select prompt 4, "PIN reset or account management change" and then prompt 5, "All other service changes."

How do I transfer my phone number to AT&T CallVantage service?

If you want to use your current phone number with your AT&T CallVantage service, you can request it be transferred when you place your AT&T CallVantage service order. We will check our database to confirm your number can be transferred; if it can we will send you an email confirming that your number will be transferred and providing you a date for that transfer. We will also send your adapter in the mail.

In general it takes about 8-10 business days from the point you place your order until the day your number is transferred.

If your number cannot be transferred, we will send you an email to inform you and your order will automatically be cancelled. You will, of course, have the option of ordering AT&T CallVantage service with a new phone number.
